Alex Leiar

Professional Evolution

I want to bring more than confidence to a real estate team or growing business. This semester, I compared how I see myself with how my peers and teammates see me, and used their feedback to improve how I prepare, communicate, and contribute.

Core values

I’m motivated by achievement and connection.

I like a challenge, but the people around me are a big part of what makes the work worthwhile.

How my peers describe me

SocialInvolvedEmpathetic

What I learned

My peers described me as social, involved, and empathetic. That matches how I see myself: someone who enjoys meeting people and being part of a team.

One peer said I could trust the process more instead of rushing to finish. Being driven also means giving the work enough care.

My brand strategy

I’ve added preparation and review checkpoints, so clients and teammates know I’ll follow through with the same care I bring to building relationships.

Communication style

I connect naturally. I’m working on clearer delivery.

My peers and I both place me in the Expressive style. The difference is what stands out: I see more assertiveness, while my peers see more emotion and connection.

What I learned

My peers notice my warmth more than I realized, and they placed me further toward emotion and connection than I placed myself.

“Very nice and well spoken”Peer feedback

Presenting is a different challenge. Teammates asked me to vary my tone, organize my thoughts, and improve my pacing.

My brand strategy

I’ve rehearsed aloud and worked on my pacing. I lead with warmth, then make my main point clear from the start.

Additional insight · Team collaboration

I support the team. I’m building more consistent habits.

Four teammates rated me after each of our three group projects this semester.

What the pattern tells me

Listening and respect stayed at a perfect 4.00 all semester. Preparation and work quality varied slightly, so consistency is what I need to work on.

My brand strategy

I want to be known as the teammate who is always prepared, not just the one who brings the energy.

What I changed

  • Added preparation and review checkpoints
  • Rehearsed aloud and worked on pacing
  • Stayed more attentive in meetings

What I’m taking forward

  • My peers and I see the same core: confident, outgoing, and expressive.
  • My warmth stands out more than I expected, so I lead with it.
  • My teamwork is strong. My preparation needs to be just as consistent.

Next, I’ll keep reviewing my work, practicing before presentations, and asking for specific feedback as I move toward commercial real estate and entrepreneurship.
